What is Brazilian waxing/Boyzilian waxing and is it safe?
Brazilian waxing removes all pubic hair, including the front, back, and intimate areas. Boyzilian waxing is the male version, removing hair from the scrotum, penis, perineum, and buttocks. At Strip Singapore, our expert therapists follow strict hygiene and a no double-dipping policy for safe, hygienic Brazilian waxing.
How long does waxing last?
Typically, results from our waxing services last between 3 to 6 weeks, depending on your hair growth cycle. With regular sessions, hair tends to grow back finer and slower over time.
How often can/should I wax?
Once every 4 to 6 weeks; the ideal hair length for waxing is 6mm. After multiple sessions, the interval between wax sessions will eventually lengthen.
What information is important to disclose prior to a wax session?
The consumption or application of Accutane, Roaccutane, Retin A, Vitamin B or AHA within the past 6 months.
● If you currently have your period.
● If you have sunburn, windburn, dry, chapped, irritated or broken skin or any open wounds on the treatment area.
● If you have sores, warts, ulcers, moles, birthmarks or any tattoo on the treatment area.
● Radiation treatment (e.g.: UV Sun tanning), electrolysis or excess sunbathing within the past 6 months.
● Excess sunbathing within the past week.
● Any surgical procedure completed within the past months.
● If you are pregnant or breastfeeding. ● If you have given birth by vaginal delivery in the past 3 months, or had a caesarian delivery in the last 6 months
What should I do to prepare for a waxing session?
Before your waxing appointment, avoid sunbeds and tanning for at least a week. Moisturise regularly, but skip heavy lotions, oils, or deodorant on the day of treatment. If it’s your first time getting waxed in Singapore, our team will guide you through what to expect.
Can I get waxing done during my period?
Yes, you can still get most treatment areas waxed during your period, however due to hygiene reasons, we will not be able to perform any Brazilian services during your menstruation.
Is waxing safe during pregnancy?
Yes, most waxing areas are safe during pregnancy when done by our trained specialists. It is best to consult a gynaecologist before the treatment. Still, Brazilian waxing is usually safe after the first trimester and can resume 3 months post-vaginal delivery or at least 6 months after a caesarean delivery.
What is the post treatment care?
● Avoid hot showers, swimming, sunbathing, saunas or steam baths for the next 24 hours.
● Avoid rubbing of the treated area and wearing tight clothing for the next 24-hours.
● Avoid the application of perfumed products including deodorant, antiperspirant, self-tanner or makeup on the treated area for the next 24 hours.
● Avoid intensive exercise for the next 24 hours.
● Avoid scrubbing and chemical exfoliants that contain AHA, BHA or Retinol for the next 7-days.
